Maybelline the Falsies Big Eyes Mascara VS. the Falsies Mascara

Color : Both in Very Black Waterproof
Price: the Falsies Big Eyes - 7.99 at Ulta
the Falsies - 6.99 at Ulta

Need To Know:

The Big Eyes attracted me at first sight due to its dual ended mascara wands; one end is for the upper lashes and the other for the lower lashes.  And the original Falsies has such a great reputation (with me and with the public in general) I had to pick it up!
Formulation: The two mascaras seem to have the same formula, at least that's how it seems to me. It is neither super wet nor super dry concerting a perfect medium between the two. The formulation is the reason why this mascara works so well for so many different types of lashes.

Wand: The wand's material and bristles are similar, having the same generic synthetic bristles. But the shape of the two are very different. For the original falsies the wand and bristles are curved allowing it to hover underneath the lashes and curl them while adding volume. The new Big Eyes wand is straight with the bristles spiraling around it. I have found that this type of wand allows the bristles to penetrate the lashes only when the wand is at a certain angle versus the original wand which allows to get through every lash at one time instead of turning the brush into different angles.

Another feature the new Big Eyes has is its wand for the lower lashes. This wand quite small and straight it reminds me of the Maybelline Lash Discovery mascara wand (this one had a different formula which made my lashes lose it's curl). I love to use this wand on my bottom lashes but I also like it on my upper lashes when I don't want crazy, dramatic lashes on a more conservative day.

Curl: For me, the original Falsies has better curling ability. The new Big Eyes seem to straighten out my lashes instead of keeping them curled.

Volume: Original Falsies win in this category again.

New Big Eyes
Original Falsies
Lasting Ability: These two mascaras have almost the same formula to me. I have extremely oily skin and it is no different around my eyes. I have to get this mascara in waterproof and even with this it starts so smear/transfer around eye after 4-5 hours. If you have oily eyelids and are looking for a mascara to last all day I would say this isn't the one.

Conclusion:  I will stick with the original falsies BUT if I was to go on vacation I would rather bring the new Big Eyes because of the duo (dual) ended feature.
