JOSIE MARAN Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée

Color : Poppy Paradise
Price: $22 at Sephora

Need To Know:
This is one of the most ingenious blushes that I have found recently. The blush is described as

"An innovative coconut water-infused cheek gelée with up to 14 hours of color and hydration."

and I would have to say that it is hydrating but does NOT last 14 hours. A reason why this product is not lasting as long as described might be due to that fact that I have very oily skin so the stain is getting smudged around and it eventually fades at around 6 hours of wear. Six hours is actually a long time compared to other blushes so I'm not complaining! It is strange how a gel-like stain has so much moisture but I'm sure this can be attributed to the ingredient argan oil (organic). Argan oil, sometimes called Moroccan oil, has become such a trend that the plant that it is extracted from is actually endangered and now under the protection of UNESCO. Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and is good for fighting skin diseases (like acne) and good for adding moisture & shine to the hair. Josie Maran describes this as a cream blusher but I would say it is more of a creamier cheek stain.

It is easy to apply and simple to use. I blend it in with my fingers but it also works well with a synthetic haired brush. The color is very build-able and even when you apply a ton it doesn't cake up because of it's gel-like character. I also love using this on my lips; it gives a nice soft stain but it is not pigmented enough to achieve a super stained lip look. This product in Poppy Paradise gives such a youthful glow. It is perfect for any "fresh" or "no makeup" makeup look.

This product comes in six different colors and I plan on getting it in Coral Oasis when it is no longer "out of stock" on sephora.com. It doesn't smell like coconut at all; in fact, it doesn't smell like anything but has a hint of a chemical-y-ness.

Stars: 5/5
Conclusion:
  1. It brings a fresh, glowy, youthfulness to your cheeks.
  2. The price doesn't bother me because it is simple to use and I can use it on my cheeks and lips.
  3. It can be used under any weather condition because of it's simplicity; in the winter it is moisturizing and in the summer it stains and lasts long.
  4. I recommend this to all:
    • normal to oily skin - it is not oily, soaks into the skin and lasts.
    • dry to normal skin - it has a moisturizing property that doesn't dry out the skin.
    • sensitive skin - be cautious because I do not have sensitive skin.
Be awesome,
Sara
